Bassoon Reeds and Bassoon Lessons by Gene Griswold

Bassoon Reeds:

MY REED MAKING PRACTICES are based on those taught to me by Leonard Sharrow and Louis Skinner.   I use Leonard Sharrow's shape and exterior dimensions along with some of Lou Skinner's interior alterations. 

ALL REEDS ARE GUARANTEED: I accept checks, money orders, or payment through PayPal or Credit Cards--see above.  Reed orders are sent via first-class mail.

Bassoon Lessons:

Bassoon reeds are provided free of charge to all my students.  I presently have two openings for students.  For further information, Contact Me. 

High school students presently studying with me include Ashley Pfaff, member of Peabody's Premiere Youth Orchestra, and Austin Davis who was recently selected to perform in the Baltimore Symphony's Side by Side Orchestra . 

University students who have studied with me include  Eddie Sanders,  Chris Schaub,   Richard Spittel,  Karen Gorelick,  Terry Fenlon, Barbara Duke,  Sean Fenlon,  Kevin Hall, and  David Donovan (former music critic for the Baltimore Sun Papers).  

My students have acquired over 20 professional playing positions (8 full-time), 10 teaching positions (5 at the college level), 3 DMA degrees in bassoon, and several awards in competitions at the local, state, and national levels (see Student Achievements).
